Unibroue: Ephemere Cranberry

Name: Unibroue: Ephemere Cranberry
Brewed In/Type:
Bought at/Price: Binny's / $6.49 750ml
Dennis: The problem with theme beers is doing them well and impressing people. Alas, although a solid brew this seems to fall short of what it truly could have been. Faint aromas of cranberry's start you off, and then you get a relatively carbonated brew that tastes of wheat and faint faint cranberry's. No where near tart in my book, and certainly not enough to knock your socks off at 5.5%. It's good, but more of a novelty brew. I could really see this picking up steam if made a little bit stronger taste wise.
Jen: As usual, Unibroue's fruit beers are fun to drink, with it's little bubbles that just seem to dance on your tongue. This is a nice smooth beer with the tartness of cranberries just adding to the beer. The beer is dry, like champagne, but with a nice beer malt/wheat backbone. Easy and fun to drink. Worth a try for something different, but not too different.
Rating: 3.75 out of 5
