Red Hook: Black Hook

Name: Red Hook: Black Hook
Brewed In/Type: Portsmouth, NH / Porter
Bought at/Price Woodmans /$14.99 24 pack (variety)
Dennis: The red hook brews are impressing me more and more as we dig through their offering. Black Hook is a very good porter, light body with a stouty/hoppy aftertaste and hint of coffeesque flavor. Slight twinge of bitterness at the end but over all a good beer for stout/porter lovers that isn't to overwhelming but has flavor.
Jen: The last time I had blackhook was not as a porter but on a nitrogen tap. This bottled version is still excellent. It has a nice roasted malt flavor with undertones of coffee, bittersweet chocolate and hops. I really enjoy the plethora of flavors that it offers. A good porter with lots of great flavor and a nice body.
