Well, once again I felt compelled to modify my case. For a long time I thought about neon lights, or more blue led's. But I already have enough blinky things on my desk. So one day, whilst I was perusing [H]ardOCP I ran across a mention of stainless steel IDE cables. Hella cool! I must have them, oh yes, they will be mine.

Now I went to Azzo's website (a company I have ordered from before, with very good results) immediatly, however, there was nary a mention of them. So I emailed Azzo's general questions address, and received an answer back 5 hours later (not to bad considering it was 12/21).

Email:
Dennis,

Hey, sorry, we had added them to our new shopping cart but then ran into a
few problems so we delayed the start up of that. We have now added them
under our cables section:)

Sorry about that, here is the link:

We also have greatly reduced the price of our cables and I would venture to
say we have the lowest prices around on these.

Have a great holiday!

Now I know i'm a cheap date, but considering they weren't even there 5 hours ago, I think this level of response was pretty damn impressive. It's exactly what I want from a company, quick, personal, and full of results. Anyways, the point is I ordered 2 18" IDE cables, and 1 10" floppy drive cable. Total came to $41.43 (S&H included) and they arrived in about 5 days via Fed Ex (not to shabby, ordered on the 4th and arrived on the 9th). So without further ado, here's what I think of them

Here's a series of pics that show the label fromt he package, and a pic of the IDE and floppy cable each.

So here's what my pic looked like before (the yellow cable ironically was from Azzo too). There's a general view, a pic with it on its side (notice my cat seems to like it) and a pic of it open (to show the unkempt clutter that Iwas so ashamed of). NOW LETS RIP SOME WIRES OUT!!!!

Now I took two pics, one with the flash and one without. Just so you (the loyal, or not so loyal reader) could see as much detail as possible. I know my cable placement isn't l337, but i'm happy, and heck the darn thing power's on.

SUMMARY:

Pros:
- They are Silver and match my aluminum case very nicely
- Give me something nice to look at thru my window
- umm....did i mention they're shiny and stuff?

Cons:
- Cost a lot more than the cables that come free w/ the hard drive's now adays

Conclusion:

Point is, if I'm gonna pop for an Aluminum case, and put a friggin' window in it you better damn well believe me when I say that I don't want to sit there staring at some crappy IDE cable that probably got raped from some crappy Compaq Presario all day. I think it was worth it :-D
