New addition to the family

There's been something we've been wanting to share for a while now, we've finally made a new addition to the family over the weekend.

Jen bought a new car :)

After much searching, researching, and visiting of dealerships, she was finally able to find the perfect set of features in a 2006 Ford Escape AWD. Yeah I'm not a big SUV fan, but coupled with my car we can really do a lot of things we normally couldn't (transport large items being number one).

We ended up walking out for a little over 25k. It has a lot of features on it though. Power everything, 4 wheel drive, moon roof, yadda yadda....but I tell you. If anything can suck the will to life out of you it's sitting in a dealership all day. Of course when they try to dick you by sneaking in 6.9% financing and hiding it with a bullshit 500 dollar rebate (math time: you still end up paying 500 more over the life of the loan) that can kinda get old. Especially when "bob" (no i'm not making that up) says "whats 500 dollars anyways"....well you just kinda want to tell him to fuck off.

But I digress....pictures....very large pictures....

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go prepare to rip out the factory stereo...MUAHAHAHAHAA

WHAT!??!?! NOT A HYBRID????

They weren't offering the Ford Family Discount plan on the hybrid...plus it was 5 thousand more easily.

It's like they don't want you to buy it...

I really wanted the hybrid but after doing all the math I would have to own it for 15-20 years to make up the difference in price (with all of the options that I wanted). Maybe if they perfect the idea a little more and lower the price in the next couple of years, I may consider it then. Plus, I only drive 5 miles each way to work.

Thats our Dennis
Gets a New car and the 1st thing he thinks about is which part he can rip out and improve
This time the Stereo gets it
Taking Bets on what he will replace it with
MP3 / CD Player Maybe

Actually, your right...waiting for the wiring harness, install kit, and din tools to arrive from crutchfield so I can install an mp3 cd player :)

Need to pickup some more heat shrink tubing though...
