Our Honeymoon Part 2

Ok so in our last update we had just gotten on the boat....

Once up the gangplank we went through security and headed down to our cabin, where we meet out steward Sidor. A steward is basically a community butler for the most part that has a certain # of rooms under his charge. Towels, mints on pillow, you name it he's on it if you need it. And let me tell you, they must check the rooms like 20 times a day, cause I swear it was like shoe elves were hiding in that room. You'd step outside, remember you forgot something and head back in and Bam! fresh towels and a clean toilet. On second though maybe I should have checked under the bed to make sure he wasn't hiding there :)

You can checkout other pics of the room on page 2 of our photo gallery.

So once we stopped by the room (and keep in mind the luggage hadn't arrived yet, it was 2pm and they usually have it there by 6pm...so thanks to no carry on we had no toiletries or anything) we proceeded to start to wander around trying to get our bearings. Now here's the funny part, somehow while walking around we were both surprised at how nobody was there. I mean it was like a ghost ship. Well it turns out that there was a mandatory "safety drill" going on, that everyone on the ship knew about except us apparently. So we caught the tail end of the "if the boat sinks we're screwed but here's how your put on the lifevest" speech....execpt we were the only ones without our life vest because they were in our room.

How we missed the memo, I'll never know.

Anyways, after all this there's what is called a "captains launch party" up on the lido deck (level 14, basically the top of the boat) where they have little cafeteria pizza places and a burger grill all setup around a pool. They also have guys walking around pimping this horrible tacky little neon color plastic "collector" hurricane glass full of some type of rum bowl drink....for like $5 bucks. So basically every one's up there...and they do these awful little contests with line dancing and silly games that I'm sure are great fun if your 5 years old or 67. There was a literal congo line towards the end.....there's even video proof of it. Which brings me to another point. Photographers and videographers....during the big events they are all around like flies on shit. I mean it's there job right? yeah but guess what ....I don't really want to be on a DVD that I will never buy, because seeing myself for 20 seconds smiling and waving isn't worth the 2 hours of other people I don't know I'd have to wade through. Same thing for $19 dollar pictures of us.....hello? I didn't bring a digital camera for the hell of it ya know. We honestly, consciously spent time avoiding areas with them in it. Was probably more fun than the game of Marco polo that was going on down below anyways.

So after milling about randomly and waiting for our luggage to arrive so we could change contacts and stuff like that we eventually started leaving dock.

We walked around a bit outside, but soon were hit with a very simple but necessary question. Where do we eat and does it cost anything?

Part 3 to come tomorrow....
