Full Sail: IPA

Name: Full Sail: IPA
Brewed In/Type: Hood River, OR / IPA
Bought at/Price: n/a / n/a
Dennis: This being the first beer we've had from full sail it's off to a good start. This is definitely a beer for hop lovers. There is a strong hop bitter from this, and it it hides it's 6% well. Although I think it relies on the hop strength a little to much, and might be overpowering to more casual drinkers.
Jen: This seems to be more of a lighter bodied IPA with a crazy hoppy ending. I also seem to get a citrusy twinge at the end with a slight evergreen-ish taste. This doesn't seem to be too bad of an IPA, but I prefer something without such a strong IPA hop kick. Easy to drink, though, so it isn't undrinkable.

Alaskan Brewing: Amber

Name: Alaskan Brewing: Amber
Brewed In/Type: Juneau, AK / Amber ale
Bought at/Price: Brewery / n/a
Dennis: After have a few beers from the brewery, I have to say this is easily my favorite base beer. This has some moderate hps but really goes over quite easily. A step up from marcro brews this is certainly always a safe choice.
Jen: Alaskan amber is a standby. Not too bad and good in a pinch. The taste is of toasted malts, which gives it a nice sweetness. There is a nice smoothness to it. I find this slightly lacking in body and mouthfeel, however, it is quite enjoyable and easy to drink. A good filler, but but not my favorite of the Alaskan brews.
