La Binchoise: Brune

Dennis: I was looking forward to tasting what a beer described as a Belgian brown ale would be like. Initially, not that different. Where the malts come through is really at the end, or exhale, and that's where I got a lot of the brown ale taste from. Other than that it's a typical Belgian, with dark fruit tastes, and an unusually sweet initial taste. Slightly fizzy, but not over-carbonated, this is definitely a subtle beer, despite it's respectable 8.2% alcohol.
Jen: At first sip, this tastes like a typical Belgian ale. It is got a high malt flavor with lots of little bubbles. It is then followed with the flavors of a brown ale: earthy and yeasty. It also has flavors of brown sugar and some spiciness to it that resembles pepper with a little bit of a citrus flavor. I find this to be fairly easy to drink. Smooth and creamy with a bit of a bite.
