Here is a really interesting movie that was sent to me (curtosy of Patrick)
- Reason to wear your seatbelt
Apparently it’s a video from a product called DriveCam which is a fleet monitoring system that records the last 15 minutes before an accident.
Valentines day
I completely forgot to share this pic, it’s been up in the photo album, but I didn’t post it here.
It’s our Valentine’s day gifts to each other:

A Shit Bitch Bear and some Big Black Dick Liquor.
Oh yeah, and the duct’s and fireplace got cleaned today. Plus me and jen got about 1/2 the masterbedroom’s plywood subfloor secured.
I need an epiphany toilet
It’s not that I have writer’s block, but I’m just not sure what to put here.
There’s a decent amount of traffic that comes here, but I’m not sure if it’s for the links or to because my post’s are interesting.
I don’t speak to my brother anymore. The reason I bring this up is because the closing for my mother’s house will occur on Feb. 27th (in theory). But I won’t be there because I’ll be in Texas for the week on business. My sister also won’t be there because she doesn’t want to be alone with him without me (i think). This is a major decision in my opinion, because unlike me, she grew up with him.
The reason why is pretty simple, and i’m sure most of you can see it coming, but I don’t think i’ve actually told anyone on here. My brother didn’t do jack shit to help my mom. In total he only visited her 3 times before her death, and not even with my sister-in-law. I assume she couldn’t be bothered to come.
While me and terri were switching days (every other) to take care of her, he just went about his life offering us no support. With his help we would have been able to do every 3 days instead of every other. Even if his job wouldn’t allow it, he could have done weekends. Anything to help us out, and at least spend some time with mom before she died. Instead it was just left on us to do it everyday, everyweek, everymonth. These memories are horrible ones, I don’t blame anyone for not wanting them, but I will serve judgement on people who abandon their family.
So he get’s his third of the house, but in return loses a brother, and has to live the rest of his life knowing he can never fix what he did or change it. I don’t think it was worth it.
Oh and Terri, if you read this, I don’t want your TV. Your gonna have to keep it.
Where to start? Lot’s going on right now. Working on the new house, and trying to catch up on packing.
Been a very busy weekend for both of us. We finished rolling up the nasty old carpeting and getting it ready for the pickup. The final tally was 15 roll’s of carpeting, each 4 feet long by 2 feet. They all got picked up this morning by the garbage men, we arranged a bulk pickup, for only 21 bucks. Not to bad if you ask me.
That’s about all that’s gone right though. It turns out the pergo didn’t arrive like Home Depot told us, so we basically went there with a truck for no reason at all. Great waste of a day if you ask me. Sure there was a morning laminate flooring class we both attended, and that was helpful, but still kinda sucked the energy out of the day.
Basically, after that class, we’ve realized that the subfloor that carpet was on isn’t the same as what the ceramic tile is on. The ceramic tile has an extra layer of subfloor (which is just plywood) downstairs. So basically we have to add another layer of plywood in all the rooms downstairs. Not the end of the world, but definatly not my idea of fun.
On a different note, being out of pocket has it’s bad points. Apparently my website was down most of sunday and I didn’t notice until rick told me about it when we were out at TGIF’s drinking cheap beer/water and waiting for jenna to come back to the table.
Speaking of weird things, me and jen both traded valentine’s day gifts, but i’ll save that for another post.
Strange things have been going on lately, I’ve noticed a lot of searches for “tonycar” on my site, plus the traffic for that file is crazy high:

Judging on an email I got, I’m assuming somebody linked to this and sent out an email with it. Pretty crazy stuff, good thing i don’t have any bandwidth issues.
On a bright side, Jen taught me how to make black & tan’s last week. Pretty cool.
Here are some quick link’s I’ve been saving for a rainy (snowy) day:
- Houston rarely fires lazy workers. In other news sky is still blue.
- Get kicked in balls, sue for $15,000, sit back and profit.
- Metallica continues it’s downward spiral into Spinal Tap.
- Meet Levi’s new distressed jean product line. Will Ferrell soon to release his “Derelicte” line from Zoolander.
- Central Vac’s suck, but in a good way…..not like a $10 hooker. Had to toss this in because the new house had one
- American Indian’s (NACC) are upset about OutKast’s grammy performance, saying it was “It was the most disgusting set of racial stereotypes aimed at American Indians that I have ever seen on TV”. In other news, piece of coal up his ass should be ready just about any day now.
Ok, gotta go install GNOME right now on my sparq. Later,
D

out of pocket for a while, no email or phone. So if i don’t answer your emails or post’s dont’ take it personally. the dsl order is taking longer than thought.
Have you heard about the latest “virus” going around?
I pretty much stopped using AIM a while ago, but it only affects them. Basically some idiot downloads a stupid joke program, and it uses them to redistribute itself to everyone on their buddy list. It’s social engineering at it’s best/worst. Here’s a good “overview” article of it on CNN.
And of course for the more technical of us, there’s an indepth discussion going on over at BBR/DSLR.
I haven’t really been watching much TV lately, especially MTV (which no longer plays music videos really…..ironic to say the least) but I did catch the latest Real World debacle while channel flipping. Basically one of the girls hit a guy, and he called the cops on her. Turns out he’s a marine….. yup, he’s the person we depend upon to protect our freedom and way of life. And also apparently a huge pussy.
Ok, gotta get to bed, but here’s a great site that has all the Terry Tate Reebok commercials on it. They are simply hilarious. Probably some of the funniest one’s I’ve seen in a long time.
My eye's! The goggles do NOTHING!
I forgot to mention something yesterday.
It was very embarassing.
VERY embarrassing.
I used to use an old win98 for emulating old video game systems (such as NESticle) and I used an old Compaq analog 2 button gamepad because it was just like the original nes controller. So I figured I could use it for FF7 at least to move my guy around, until I found my 4 button one (which is hiding one me right now).
So I plugged it in to the port in my sound card, just like I did before, and for some reason I can’t get it work. I reload, check the bios to make sure I didn’t disable it, check the device manager in winXP, still no joy.
So Jen is sitting next to me on the couch (my comp is currently running output to my big screen tv, so i can enjoy ff7 to it’s fullest ;P) and says “isn’t there a game controller thing you have to setup in the control panel?”
Sure as shit, that was the problem. I spent the next 10 minutes bitching about stupid XP, but really I just felt like an idiot. ![]()
Oh well…..in other news we finished ripping up all the carpeting last night in the whole house. I tell you what, I’ll be damn glad to get rid of it. After seeing what’s under it I don’t think I’ll ever be a supporter of carpeting again. Plus, the bastards who installed it used like a million staples on the padding. It’s a freakin’ nightmare to get them all up, I both our hands are cramping up like crazy (that reminds me, I need knee pads).
Let’s see, that leaves Pergo (coming next week), painting, installing a humidifier to the furnace, getting the duct’s cleaned and furnace, and moving. All before the 23rd when I have to fly out of town for a business trip.
No problem at all.
Actually that reminds me of a story of some idiot I know who installed a whole house water filter, and didn’t even do it close to right. So he had rags in the closet under it to catch the dripping water. Now that’s the wrong way to do something.
Well back to work, my contacts are buggin’ me and I still have to troubleshoot a GigE problem in SFLDMI.
Welcome to the jungle
The joy of homeowner ship just keeps getting better and better
Due to a nice little f&@^ up by SBC’s billing department my phone got cut off on Friday, and is supposed to be turned up sometime today. Still waiting on it though, can’t even dial up to get online without a phone line.
Still tearing up carpeting, so far we’ve finished the living room, dining room, and family room. This also includes tearing up the “tack strip” and jen had a great idea. Why not burn it all in the fireplace? It really worked out great, and now all we have to do is sweep up the nails from the fireplace rather than trying to throw out 3 room’s of tack stripping (which has nails all over it).
Once we have all the carpetting up, we’ve been getting rid of all the squeaks in the floor (there were a lot of them). So basically we’re screwing the living hell out of the floor everywhere there is a nail to get rid of the squeak. It’s working pretty well but takes a while, uses a lot of screws, and is murder on my back ![]()
Got an email today from somebody recommending Dragon Warrior 7 for the PS1. I’m still working on FF7 (haven’t had a lot of time to play) for the PC, and am still looking for my gamepad because the keyboard layout is murder on my hands.
However, when I am done and if I have time I will try to play it for sure. I remember playing Draqon Warrior 1 on my NES (still have the cartridge actually in my closet), and I’ve been drooling over the previews for Dragon Warrior 8 . The graphic style in DW VIII should look familiar because the person doing them also did Dragon Ball Z (Akira Toriyama I think).
When I’ll find time…….who knows ![]()
The only links I have today are this:
- 23 ways to speed up Windows XP
- Stewie Soundboard (freakin’ hilarious)
- New York City formally opposes the Patriot Act, still wants money for Internet purchases though.
if your happy and you know it clap your hands!
I feel as if I have lost a part of myself.
I have no phone service.
I have no DSL.
I won’t have phone service until Monday the 9th, and DSL until the 16th (at the latest).
Internet withdrawl cannot be to far behind.
