How does the IR Illuminator perform?

Someone asked, with good reason, for pictures of what the difference was between a basic x10 low light camera, and one using the IR Illuminator I built.

They're not the best, but I took some pictures last night. I don't have a video capture card, so you'll have to deal with the CRT refresh line.

So here's a picture of the room illuminated with only 2 7w night lights:

And here's the same picture, but this time ONLY the IR Illuminator is turned on. The room is 100% dark to the human eye:
