it's funny
I think I finally got it last night while I was sitting out on the deck with Jen and Connor. The number of subnets is 2^s, where s = # of 1's in a binary subnet mask. And hosts = 2^h-2, where h= the # of 0's in the mask, minus the network ID and broadcast ID.
Now if I could just do power's of 2 in my head....math is going to be my downfall on this until I just memorize it all.
