mind numbing

There are many things I've been meaning to discuss here, but I saw something last night that is just killing. Before Jen got home from work, I was killing some time flipping through the channels when I came across an episode of Monster Garage. Now this is a show that both interests and annoys me at the same time usually, but this time what I saw was just unbelievable. They were building an electric car...and electric drag racing car...using milwaukee v28 battery packs. I shit you not. I thought I was going crazy at first, but they were really going to try to use 384 lithium ion rechargable battery packs. Now I didn't get time to finish watching it, but I can only imagine that they were only doing this for one reason...advertising. There simply isn't any other reason in the world that any person with a brain in their head would try to use lithium ion batteries in such a limited housing to power a car. I mean, at least lead acid batteries are recyclable once depleted, but lithium ion batteries are probably the worst choice possible. This makes about as much sense as trying to perform surgery with a swiss army knife.
