Yesterday was volunteer day at the food bank. There really is nothing more rewarding than dragging your half asleep ass out of the bed at 6:15am on a Saturday morning, and then driving for 45 minutes with everybody crawling up your ass because they can't comprehend the concept of only going 5 over the speed limit. Seriously, if you want to pass me...find....pass me, but when you do...don't just slow down about 20 feet ahead of me and then match my pace. I mean, what was the purpose of passing me then? Anyways, the volunteer group I had today did pretty good, even if they weren't talkative. About 7 pallets worth of Hamburger Helper/Potato Helper sorted...that's roughly 3200 pounds of stuff. I tell you what, that's a pretty good workout for 3 hours. After we got home then we cleaned the basement a bit to make room for painting trim....figured we'd work on the rest of the house here a bit, since we already have most of the stuff for it. Then we ran out to Bed, Bath and Beyond to pickup a new Duvet cover that was on sale (yes, I know I am sooo cool). Anyways, here's my point, afterwards we ran to Costco, to pickup cat liter. So it's saturday....at Costco....there are lines of course everywhere. So we get in line, and the lady in front of us tells me to put down the litter on the convayer belt. So, I'm all like "no it's ok, it's good exercise". So somehow, this develops into her letting us cut in front of her (all we had was litter...it literally took us 30 seconds to checkout). And of course we're goint the obligitory thankyou small talk. And this lady busts out the best thing I've heard in a long time. "If you looking for sympathy, try looking in the dictionary. It's right between shit and syphilis."
