Selling out to the man?
Well, it's that time again. My domain is set to expire soon and I'm debating renewing it (as always).
Spending money, just to ramble on about my pathetic life doesn't exactly top my list of things to spend on. For the past 6 years in which I've had this domain, I've never generated any money off it. Mainly because I just don't like ads or anything like them. I've also though that ads and pop-ups are tacky and just plain skeevy (if that's not a word, then I made it up). I mean, I have that SBC DSL thing up top, but that's a work thing, and I've always helped anyone with their DSL problems as much as I can....been doing it for years for free.
Anyways, i'm open to thoughts. Should I even bother keeping this site running? Would ads come across that badly? I mean with about 20k people visiting the site a month, I just wonder if I'm being stupid or not.
And why the hell are 20k people interested in listening to me complain? :) Must just be the cat pictures.

Totally go google ads. I would not mind them, but the flash ads some places have are annoying.

You are doing us all a huge favor by posting your rants on this site for us all to see. It is nice to know that someone else is having a worse day than you and it can, on occasion make one smile. In a sense your misery is our pleasure...... Enough with the BS but it sounded like something you would write. Seriously, your site, your call to keep it or not.

I have visited this site for Years ever since i saw a link about the 5861 router that 1st led me here.
I would even consider making a donation towards the domain cost
I love the Pictures of the House and all the work you have done and enjoy the Rants
The car Stereo pictures

You express my thoughts about these things ..

I dont know about anyone else, but I'm crazy about the funy pics...and the rants are not that bad either. I probably check in on this thing at least twice a week...it would serioulsy be too bad if there would be no more dennisjudd.com...so get that thought out of your head and renew it...who cares about ads...as long as they dont flash of course

If you want to know why i stop in here every other day, it is because you saved me the effort of creating my own blog. I'm a sys admin, who works on my house, rides motorcycles, tinkers with my cars' electronics and drinks beer. Basically everytime i think about creating my own blog, you remind me that its been done already. And not done too badly. Alright, i do like the funny links too. Ads are ok, I dont blame you.

This site has been around for about six years and I've been a regular visitor the whole time. I can't say I've got that kind of a tenure with a girl, a car, a job...with many valued things. I've had many a laugh because of you, and nodded my head in agreement with almost all of the aforementioned rants. You shouldn't lose this site, because you have something that most don't...an audience. Even if it's a small one, it means that there are people out there that are interested in what you think and what you have to say. It's something you've had for years so it might be something that you take for granted...but I bet that once it was gone it would be sorely missed. You might think of it as "rambling on about your pathedic life" but I'll tell you what, hearing about your pathedic life is something I've chosen to do for 6 years.
I don't see anyone being bothered by google's adsense. It's not like it spawns pop-ups. Certain websites have value. One other such site is http://www.hotstockmarket.com I'm logged into that site from one location or another pretty well 24X7. They recently "sold out to the man" and went from no ads to banner ads and google's adsense. It's not invasive, and as far as I can tell hasn't hurt their membership.
If DennisJudd.com goes away I'll have to start a blog so there can be some force of reason on the internet....and I don't have time to do that.
That's my 2 cents. Sorry about the long post.
