Selling stuff online sucks
I really hate selling and buying used stuff online. See, here's the problem. When I sell stuff online I go through all sorts of ungodly efforts to make sure I take detailed pictures, research prices, and when I ship it....let's just say that I seriously doubt there is a better packer than I. I mean I literally have a basement section dedicated to shipping supplies. Foam, peanuts, inflatable air pockets, boxes, "good" tape.
Really, i'm not kidding. I even always...always send stuff with delivery confirmation (USPS...basically a tracking code) just because. I pop the extra $.40 or whatever just to get peace of mind. That and so the other person can't say they never got it and try to screw me. I'm just sick of dealing with other people who don't go through the same effort as I. For example I bought a used wire tracker (tone inducer...foxhound...whatever) via a site I visit often. It was listed as "mint" and "like new" condition. Well it just arrived today and I have to say how dissapointed I am.
1. It wasn't even packed...it was taped to the bottom of an empty box...taped...not packing peanuts or even newspaper, but simply an X of shipping tape. Guess what? It didn't fucking hold. How shocking is that.
2. It wasn't "mint". Mint would denote that it is as new as the day it was created, fresh as a fucking daisy. Dings, dents, burn marks, cracked plastic battery covers, and a compartment that doesn't close does not mean "mint" in my book. Now I have to complain. I hate complaining, at least to people's faces. I've always wanted to pick up a tone injectore...and now here I am basking in a situation where something I've always wanted is tainted with annoyance. I should have just paid the extra fucking 10 bucks and bought the stupid thing new. That way I wouldn't have to dick around with this stupid crap. I'm just annoyed. I've got 50 thousand other things going on in my life more important than this, and I have to spend my time over something this unimportant. Maybe i'm cranky because it's 5am and I'm up working....this sucks.
