So, I managed to rip the outer layer off my cornea's yesterday somehow.
It turns out that falling asleep with your contacts in can be a very bad thing. At least for me and my Toric contact lens's. Now most
website and references I can find say
sleeping with your contacts in for one night
isn't a big deal. i'm here to say that I don't give two shits what they say, don't do it!
My eyes didn't hurt that much, They didn't get all red and swollen or anything when i finally did take them out. What did happen was that I wasn't able to focus or see anything for shit yesterday, and I had a headache pretty much all day. Pretty much I could see anything at all.
now the outer layer of the cornea will grow back in about 24hrs according to my eye doctor....but damn, not being able to focus or see can freak out just about anybody if you ask me.

Jesus christ, I must be the unluckiest person in the world then. Of course both of you can wear contacts for months at a time. i do it once and damn near blind myself :-/
As for the chair, nope, it's more a dream than a planned purchase. Really can't justify 800 bucks for a chair yet. Maybe when my kids are in college already ;)

I just tried those Toric Lenses, and I think I slept in them for about a month or so. I know, BAD BAD Aeron. Oh well. I just don't have the money to get more, so am back to the ugly glasses thing again.
Hope you are doing well out there D!!! Did you get an Aeron chair yet? We have there here at work. They are pretty comfy

Maybe you should start collecting donations on this site.

You should have loosened them up first, by pouring in a good shot of saline solution into the corner of your eyes before trying to take them off. I used to occassionally doze off with my contacts in, and this worked for me the next day. Oh, by the way, the disposables are the same as the old contacts from the days before they figured out that they could make more money selling more lenses at a lower price more often, so you can continue to use them for months, as long as you use the old two part clean and rinse process for them. (I haven't worn contacts myself for quite some time, I like the different sets of frames I have, and I'm getting lazier in my old age! (33))

You'll be happy to know that I wore soft contact lenses for about 2 months straight in college. I've also consistently worn ripped contacts and disposable contacts for over a year! My doctor chastised me, but no damage to my eyes!
My last pair of disposables ripped in September, so I've been a four eyes ever since. Too lazy to go to the doctor.
